Summary

This non-fiction picture book teaches children the parts of their brain and what those parts do. It also emphasizes how your brain grows and stretches as you get older and the best way we can help our brain do this is to make mistakes and learn from them. Learning something new causes the brain to grow more connections among neurons. It is important to learn these skills young so that you can practice them your whole life.

Mom Thoughts

This science-heavy book does an excellent job of helping children understand the makeup of the brain, and also that making mistakes is GOOD for the brain. As the mother of a child who struggles with perfectionism, these are especially helpful and important discussions to have, but any child can benefit from this fact-filled picture book. This could be used in conjunction with a science lesson at home or simply to start a conversation about the incredible brains God gave us and how they work. This is a secular book, so there is no acknowledgment of a  Creator, but it certainly could be a discussion point as well.
