Summary

This picture book follows a baby in utero from conception to birth. Readers learn what is forming when, the size of the baby, and much more. Each page has a Bible verse as well as illustrations to accompany the week.

Mom Thoughts

This scientifically minded, Scripturally rich picture book desires to show your children God’s incredible design of human life. It includes interesting milestones each week to help your children (and you) understand how much a child grows and changes inside the perfect environment of their mother’s womb.

“You grew finger and toeprints, and your skin was covered in a white waxy coating. God protected you from absorbing too much amniotic fluid and from being scratched by your growing fingernails.”

There is also a beautiful Gospel presentation at the end, leaning into the Biblical idea of being born again. Overall, the text is outstanding. The one thing I do not love about this title is the illustrations. While I appreciate the difficulty of creating realistic art of children in utero, many drawings have an odd, stretched feeling about them, but this book can still be a helpful resource for families.
