Mom Thoughts

Before you write this book off because of the title, this is a book that I recommend for all families in Western culture to read during the Christmas season. We don’t “do” Santa with our children, but I will definitely be reading this to them because it carries a very important message. What this book makes crystal clear is that the message of Santa and the Gospel are contradictory. Santa also realizes that he is a sinner in need of a Savior.

“‘There’s no one good but God alone'” he’d heard Jesus concluded, and those who claim they’re ‘good enough’ are simply just deluded. If there’s a list of who is ‘good’, that standard we’ve all missed, and Santa saw that even he was on the naughty list.”

This could be used by families who don’t participate in Santa to help reinforce to their children why they do not, and it could also be used by those who do participate in Santa to keep the season properly focused on Christ. Either way, this is a very practical book with a wonderful Gospel presentation. I highly recommend it for your family!
