Summary
Sadie likes to make things and use her imagination, even very early in the morning. She also loves to read and imagines herself as the characters in her favorite books. She also loves to imagine she has wings, but she always comes back home.
Mom Thoughts
This whimsical picture book follows a day in the mind of a little girl named Sadie. It’s lighthearted and will inspire your littles to make and do and imagine.
Note: While pretending to be the characters in her books, Sadie “has been a boy raised by wolves.” This is an obvious allusion to The Jungle Book and being that this book was written in 2015, I do not think it was meant to blur gender lines. The illustration does show Sadie dressed like Mowgli- shirtless and in a small brown cloth- but to me, it seems innocent.
