This First Thanksgiving Day by Laura Krauss Melmed

This counting book starts at 1 and counts to 12 using people or things related to the first Thanksgiving. Each number has a 4 line rhyming phrase: “9 in the cornfield, bringing in the maize, sowed with care as Squanto taught last spring planting days.” It ends with the first Thanksgiving meal.

This simple book makes the Thanksgiving story easily accessible and familiar to little ones. It has vibrant illustrations filled with detail. This is an excellent November read!
