Summary
Continuing in the tradition of The Kingdom of God Bible Story Book, The Wisdom of God uses full-page illustrations to accompany the retelling of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. They are grouped in chapters and the chapters are grouped into three parts (separated by book of the Bible). They have a brief reflection and questions following each chapter.
Mom Thoughts
Lithos Kids has done it once more, delivering a beautifully crafted, stunningly illustrated, and Biblically faithful book that families will cherish and revisit time and time again. There is a minimal amount of author commentary, sticking very close to Scripture, although what is there is used for clarity or to point to the Gospel.
“Job had lost much, but he gained even more. And of far greater value than any of his possessions was the wisdom he had gained through his suffering. Job had learned to trust in God’s wisdom, even when he did not understand God’s purposes.”
Do note that in the section covering Job, God is represented by a glowing (and empty) throne and Satan is depicted as man with wings, but we only ever see an outline of him, no hard features.
This is a beautiful and Biblical addition to your home library, and I highly recommend it!
