Summary
Diva is a dog who lives a cushy life in Paris, but lives in fear of things like feet (because she is smaller than a foot). Flea is a cat who roams the streets of Paris looking for new things. He isn’t fond of brooms. When they meet, Flea introduces Diva to the excitement and beauty of Paris. Diva returns the favor by showing Flea what it’s like to have a safe home with food. They challenge each other to stretch and learn new things about their city and themselves. In the end, Flea becomes adopted by Diva’s owner and they live together, having adventures every day.
Mom Thoughts
This lovely junior novel is such a sweet story. It’s a bit like Lady and the Tramp, minus the love aspect (and with one cat instead). There are no language issues or questionable behaviors. The illustrations are absolutely outstanding; they are realistic and yet still overflowing with character. It’s a story about friendship and adventure being in the eye of the beholder. I highly recommend this book for your family!
