Summary

Jesus was teaching and climbed into a boat so the crowd could see and hear him. After he was done speaking, he told his friends they should all go to the other side of the sea. When they were all in the boat, Jesus fell asleep. Then a huge storm came and the disciples were terrified but Jesus was still asleep. Finally, they woke up Jesus saying “We’re going to drown! Don’t you care?” Then Jesus stood and spoke to the waves and the wind telling them to stop- and they did. Only God can do those things. So who is Jesus? Jesus is God.

Mom Thoughts

Alison Mitchel and Catalina Echeverri once again make a dynamic pair to create a captivating and truth filled children’s book. Echeverri’s illustrations, especially in the storm- are so vivid and dramatic- anyone can imagine being in the boat with the disciples. I also love how the book ends by pointing out that only God can do the things Jesus does, so who must Jesus be? God! I highly recommend this book for your family.
