Summary

This picture book tells the story of creation, the fall, man’s hardened hearts, and God’s work of salvation through Jesus Christ. This is all told through a poetic text using the illustration of God as The Sower.

Mom Thoughts

This beautiful book is perfect for poetry lovers. While it doesn’t follow any syllabic pattern, the text is filled with symbolism and descriptive imagery. It flows rather lyrically. Every illustration is worthy of a frame on your wall. This is truly a lovely book that points the reader to the goodness of “The Sower” and his transformative work in the believer’s life:

“Into a barren land, the Sower sent his powerful Voice with seeds of hope. He spoke- first through messengers who echoed his love, and then he came himself. The Sower’s Word became flesh and walked among us. He came to cast seeds and work the soil with his own hands.”

This is a lovely choice for a poetry lover of any age. Younger children may need a bit of explanation throughout, but it is a wonderful conversation starter for children to unpack the beautiful imagery within its pages.
