Summary

Written in rhyme, this sweetly illustrated book wonders about all of the sounds that were heard on the first Christmas night. Did the animals make joyous sounds? Did the angels sing and did the shepherds rejoice? It then ends by asking what joyous sounds we can make to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

Mom Thoughts

This is an adorable little book that will get your kids ready to make a joyful noise to the Lord! This would be a wonderful choice to read before singing some Christmas Carols at home. While best suited for children six and under, older children will likely want to get involved in all the fun noise-making too. Also, I appreciate how it is implied that the Wise Men were not there immediately at Christ’s birth. This is a fun and lighthearted addition to your Christmas reading!
