Summary
Siblings Peter and Mary are transported back in time into Bible stories. They must solve each “secret of the scroll,” or they will be trapped in time. Each book takes place in a different well-known Bible story, and each secret revealed in the scrolls is a truth about God.

Mom Thoughts
This series is full of adventure and bravery and is great for both boys and girls. The first book has flashes of Narnia- staying with an unknown distant relative, exploring his strange house, being magically transported to another time and place, sibling tension, a boy named Peter- but this series strives to put your child in the middle of the action that they read about in the Bible.
Haven’t you always dreamed about what it looked like in the Garden of Eden? To watch David beat Goliath? To watch Jesus walk on water? My kids didn’t want to stop reading, they always wanted more! It’s a good thing there are several books in the series. These aren’t the most eloquently written books but fit the bill of a fun, free read.
Questionable Behaviors:
There is a bit of sibling squabbling, with Peter sometimes thinking of his sister as a know-it-all.
Mary comes across as a bit bossy and sassy at times, with several mentions of eye-rolling.
Other Things to Know:
The major concern that parents might have with this series is possibly confusing children about what actually happened in Scripture. If your child doesn’t know these Bible stories well, the addition of fictional events to the storyline might make Biblical truth unclear. For example, the author adds a physical manifestation of Satan to each of the books not included in scripture, except for the serpent in the garden. Also, Christ appears in the last two books and speaks words not written in Scripture which may make some people uncomfortable.
While this series is not for every family, I think many will enjoy the adventures they offer while encouraging excitement over scripture. My children thoroughly enjoyed them.
