Summary
There lived a father whose son was very sick. The father had heard about a man named Jesus who was doing things only God could do and healing many people. Even though the father lived more than 20 miles from where Jesus was, he decided he must go see him. He traveled quickly because he needed to see Jesus.
When he reached Jesus, it was 1:00 in the afternoon. He told Jesus about his son and instead of agreeing to come with the father, Jesus said, “Go, your son will live.” The father believed Jesus and returned home. When he arrived, he found his son well again. When he asked what time the boy started to get better they told him 1:00. All Jesus had to do was speak and it was so.
Mom Thoughts
I’ve heard this story countless times before but reading it here it hit me differently this time. It might be because I’d never realized how far this man traveled to see Jesus or really thought about what faith he was showing with every action. It also just so happens my son is at this moment sick in bed.
Whatever the reason, I thought about this brief story with much more pause and appreciation this time. What a fantastic book to read to your children filled with captivating illustrations and truth from the Bible. I highly recommend this book for your family!
