Summary

This is a 25 day Advent Calendar and Devotional that starts on December 1st. Each day, when you open the Advent calendar, the door comes off and becomes a small ornament to hang on a Jesse tree that your family can make. There is a small opening activity or a question followed by reading scripture. This is followed by the “Talk” section which reflects on the text and asks some questions. Then there is a “Think” section with some thoughts by the author. There is sometimes a “Do” section for a small activity to help reinforce the idea and finally, a “Pray” section to end together in prayer. It would take approximately 5-10 minutes a day to do this devotional.

Ages: Best for children 2-8.

Mom Thoughts

This is a lovely and simple version of a Jesse Tree to get your family prepared for Christmas by walking through parts of the Old Testament to see Jesus’ family line. This is a small daily time commitment and very approachable for families who haven’t before done a devotional. The author also uses some of the questions to prompt conversations about salvation and faith in Christ. This is a simple, straightforward, and solid resource for young families.
