Summary
The journey continues for Tag, Skyla, and Blaze as they cross the desert to reach the Whispering Oak. They are caught in a sand storm but Blaze’s wings cover and protect them from the sand tornado. They make it across the desert and find a tunnel through the hills where they need to go. As they make their way, they run into a fleet of crag beetles who are spies for Thorn. They are able to escape by finding a secret tunnel in the floor and sliding out to freedom.
When they reach the Whispering Oak, a swarm of grumblebees tells them that the other piece of the Ember Stone has been taken by the bears that live in the hill. They will only give it back for honeycomb but the bees are almost out because Thorn’s shadow is draining the forest. Tag, Skyla, and Blaze go to talk to the bears just as they are being attacked by tiger bats. Blaze scares them away with her screech. The bears still insist the trio bring them honeycomb in exchange for the Ember Stone.
When they come back to the Whispering Oak, Skyla remembers a lush field they found on the way to the oak tree and the bees agree to give them the honeycomb for directions to the field. Tag, Skyla, and Blaze bring the bears the honeycomb and receive the third piece of the Ember Stone. They see that there is at least one more stone to find and they head off for Lullaby Lake
