Mom Thoughts
Following the success of The Good News of Christmas, this beautifully illustrated, biblically solid, and thoughtfully crafted title is an absolute treasure. Even though the rhyme doesn’t follow a form or meter, it’s still a very enjoyable read linguistically.
“‘Is it true that You are King of the Jews?’ Pilate asked as more questions swirled.
‘I’ve come from above as God’s witness to Truth. My kingdom is not of this world.’
‘What is Truth?’ Pilate scoffed, as the crowd shouted loud,
‘Crucify Him if you’re Caesar’s friend!’
Then Pilate caved in to the bloodthirsty men, washed his hands,
and the King was condemned.”
This poetic retelling is not just for Easter time. I almost wish Easter wasn’t in the title simply because people will likely only read it during that season but it’s fitting for any day you want to remind your children (and yourself) of the incredible sacrifice Christ made for us and of His victory over sin and death (so really, any day)!
