Summary
We hear the familiar story of the disciple Peter. He often talks before he thinks. Jesus called Peter to help Him search or “fish” for people who needed forgiveness. As Peter spent more time with Jesus, he realized that Jesus wasn’t just any man, he was God! Although Jesus never let Peter down, Peter sometimes let Jesus down. Peter denied knowing Jesus when He needed him most. Peter needed forgiveness too. But then Jesus rose again and forgave Peter. Peter spent his life telling everyone that if they put their trust in Jesus, He will forgive them over and over too. Jesus will do this for you too!
Mom Thoughts
This is a wonderfully familiar story, but with an important emphasis. Jesus forgave Peter of so much, and still loved and forgave him. Jesus will continue to forgive everyone again and again and again. We can see ourselves (and our children) in Peter easily and what hope there is for us then!
God can use the worst offenders- even a best friend of Jesus who denied knowing Him- to do amazing things for his kingdom. If God can forgive us of so much, shouldn’t we also forgive others? I highly recommend this book for your family!
