The Church History ABCs: Augustine and 25 Other Heroes of the Faith by Stephen J. Nichols

This picture book has one page for every letter of the alphabet that corresponds to someone important in church history: A is for Augustine, B is for Bradstreet, C is for Calvin, D is for Donne. Each page has one to two paragraphs on the highlighted person with a full-color illustration of them as well. There is another paragraph or two about each person in the back of the book as well as a chronological listing of their names.

This very large “picture” book falls more into the category of reference book because of all the information packed into these pages. The author did a fantastic job of very briefly touching on why each person was important to church history. This will very well be a springboard for future study once your child learns of some of the incredible things these people did for their faith and to live their lives for Christ. This is an outstanding resource that I highly recommend for your family!
