Summary

This book is written from the perspective of the adoptive parents to an older adoptive child.

Before you were born, God knew you and he formed you. We (adoptive parents) did not know the day you were born, but God did. You mattered deeply to God from the moment you were formed. Even though we didn’t get to see you as a baby, God did and he watched over you. We missed many moments from when you were younger, but God didn’t miss anything.

God knew what was missing from our family, it was you.  We waited for a long time, but finally, God built the bridge that brought you to us. We are sometimes sad about missing parts of your life, but we know when we weren’t there, God was. This isn’t the end of the story because in Jesus there is always a happy ending.

Mom Thoughts

This is a moving book, for any parent. It is especially poignant for families who have adopted a child at an older age, but so hope-filled and rooted in God’s love. This is beautifully written and some of the phrases might go over young heads, but I love that this book points to God throughout and at the very end, Jesus.
