Summary
Written as a cumulative tale (think The House that Jack Built), this story recounts the first Christmas.
Mom Thoughts
I’ll be honest, I don’t love cumulative stories, but this one is so beautifully illustrated and recounts the morning of the first Christmas so creatively, I’ll happily make an exception for this lovely book! Especially young children will find comfort in and enjoy the repetitive nature of the text and the stunning illustrations will draw children of any age into the story. There is a stable depicted, but the wise men are shown only on the last page, coming at a later time. This is a perfect book for the Christmas season!
