Mom Thoughts
This lighthearted and slightly silly book uses many repeated words to help your new reader gain confidence. There are also many occurrences of onomatopoeia, which children will greatly enjoy.
“Squirrel went to the river.
‘Hello, hello, hello!’ said Squirrel. ‘Is that you, Turtle?’
Turtle looked at his feet. Turtle looked at his shell. ‘Yep. It’s me,’ said Turtle.”
This lovely little book has large, full-color illustrations on each page, and is a great choice for your new reader!
