Summary

Written in rhyme, this picture book points children to scripture as the Word of God and to Christ as the “hero of this special story.” The title is often repeated to help children remember all the ways they can hide Scripture in their hearts. Each page also includes a verse of scripture written out, as well as corresponding scripture references hidden throughout the illustrations. There is a “Parent Connection” page at the back of the book to help parents practically put into action the four title tactics.

Mom Thoughts

This sweet picture book is dripping with a love of scripture from beginning to end. The text itself has a definite beat, lending it to an almost a rap-like feel, which is fun and different! The repetition of the title throughout the book not only helps to reinforce the different ways of learning scripture, but kids love repetition! The playful illustrations are a cross of realism and watercolor whimsy, and I love the added scripture verses on every page. Do be sure to read the author’s entire text first before reading the full scripture passage, or you’ll lose the natural rhythm. This is a lovely choice for your home library!
