Poppleton is a pig who moves from the big city to a small town and makes wonderful new friends. These are early reader books.

Mom Thoughts

Poppleton is such a charming character. Usually well-composed and polite, Poppleton occasionally lets his emotions get the better of him, for example, spraying his neighbor with the hose. However, he always apologizes for his behavior. While these are early readers, they have a “big-kid” feel while still including illustrations on every page.

“He carried all of his quilts out to the tent. He had a flashlight and a pillow and some good books. And long after everyone else was asleep, Poppleton was still up.”

Each book is separated into three chapters, which are independent short stories. Overall, a sweet early reader series.

Things to Note: In Poppleton at Christmas, all the friends make a wish. In Poppleton in Fall, he is called a “big pig” by a smaller animal who can’t find a coat that fits him.
