My Friend Isabelle by Eliza Woloson

Five-year-old Charlie explains how he plays with his other five-year-old friend, Isabelle.

This is a short and sweet little picture book that shows how much fun a little boy has with his friend who happens to have Down Syndrome. The text does not come out and say anything about disability or Down Syndrome, but the author’s note at the end of the book lets us know that Isabelle does have Down Syndrome. It’s lovely, brief, and a delightful read for any young child.
