Summary

A scientist collects a young turtle at the nearby pond and brings her to her local museum to observe her unique features. Her young niece suggests that the turtle might be happier in the wild where she belongs. They have a portrait painted of her to memorialize her and the turtle is set free back into the wild and returns to her male counterpart. They have turtle babies and live happily ever after.

Mom Thoughts

This is a sweet and innocent story about leaving wild things where they belong. It has a nice ending with the male turtle longing for Mossy and happy to find her again with gorgeous illustrations, packed full on every page.
