Summary

This book helps children to understand sensations and feelings and how they can often go hand in hand. It gives examples of sensations (cold, sweaty, breathless) and opportunities for children to experiment with creating them. It also identifies feelings and helps children see the sensations that can accompany them. The goal is to make children aware of both sensations and feelings in their own bodies and minds and to be able to communicate them effectively.

Mom Thoughts

Because this is a secular book, it does take a secular approach to feelings, saying, “Feelings are not good or bad.” This takes sin out of the equation, which is important to note because some feelings can be sinful. Overall, if you are looking to help your child become more aware of their feelings, communicate them well, and know that hard feelings do not equal bad feelings, this could be a helpful resource.

Note: It does say the word “heck” one time, as in “what the heck?”
