Summary
This book is a retelling of Luke 12: 35-38 where Jesus talks about servants being ready at any hour for the master to return home. When he does, he surprises the servants by serving them instead. Jesus has always been surprising- coming to earth, being born in a stable, teaching about God with power and authority- and He shows again how surprising He is by being the servant king: a servant king who would die for our sins and- surprise!- come alive again. While we wait we can be ready and tell others about Jesus.
Mom Thoughts
When I saw this book, initially I thought it was a retelling of The Parable of the Ten Virgins. It is not! To be honest, the very brief passages this book is based on didn’t register in my memory, but what a story three sentences from the mouth of Jesus can tell. The Tale that Tell the Truth Series does it again. This is a lovely, Jesus glorifying, biblically sound addition to your library. I highly recommend this for your family!
