Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stien

It’s bedtime for the little red chicken and her Papa is going to read her a story. Every time he gets to the problem in the story, the little chicken interrupts and changes the story. After 3 attempts, Papa suggests that Little Chicken try reading a story to him instead. Little Chicken begins to make up a story about putting her Papa to bed when she is interrupted by snoring from her Papa. She wishes him good night and snuggles next to him.

“Interrupting Chicken” is a delightful and humorous bedtime book. My kids love this one, especially when I use different voices for Little Chicken and Papa. Little Chicken is so animated and funny, this one is a joy every time! Papa’s snoring at the end also usually gets a response. David Ezra Stein’s fun and lively illustrations pair perfectly with the text.
