How Do We Know That Christianity Is Really True? by Chris Morphew

This resource book is a basic beginner apologetics book for children that answers what it calls the two most important questions: (1) Did Jesus really come back to life? and (2) If Jesus really did come back to life, what am I going to do about it? In the first few chapters, the author uses extra-biblical evidence to explain why we can know that Jesus really lived. Next, he explains the reliability of the gospel accounts, including the unlikelihood that Jesus’ followers invented the story of the resurrection.

The author spends significant time addressing the evidence for the empty tomb and investigating various witnesses of the resurrection. After providing all this information, the author ultimately proposes that the historical evidence supports the claim that Jesus truly rose from the dead. In the last chapter, the author challenges the reader to consider what it means to our lives, in light of Jesus’ claims to deity, if Jesus really did rise from the dead.

This short but impactful book is written directly to the child using concise and easy-to-understand language. The chapters are brief yet packed with helpful facts, understandable examples, and valuable information. The author encourages readers to seek answers to their questions about Christianity, but more importantly, encourages the reader to have a relationship with Jesus. After reading this book, your child should have a basic understanding of the evidence for the historical claims of Christianity, particularly as it relates to the resurrection of Jesus and the reliability of scripture.

This book is appropriate for children who want to strengthen their faith, are unsure why they should believe, or are questioning their parents’ faith.
