Summary

Haggis and Tank are imaginative dogs that travel the world in their minds from their back yard. They have fun playing with the English language by using homophones throughout the series. Haggis and Tank sail the open seas, chase dinosaurs, and run through Scottish castles in this almost graphic novel style light-hearted series.

Mom Thoughts

This series is not a true graphic novel series; it blurs the lines of chapter books and graphic novels, which could greatly appeal to reluctant readers. I love how the author has such fun “playing” with the English language and using many homophones which can be confusing for young readers. I really enjoy the first two books, the third is not as great.

Things to know about book three: Haggis and Tank imagine they are being chased by a werewolf. There is a depiction of Haggis in a yoga pose. There is a book titled, “Hairy Pawter” as a wordplay joke.
