Summary
Gwen has a big test tomorrow so her parents tell her to study and that she can’t have screen time while her parents have friends over. Gwen disobeys and plays games on her tablet all night while her parents entertain guests. The next day Gwen fails her test and has to have a parent sign it. Gwen signs it herself and returns it. While at the market a few days later, Gwen and her mom run into her teacher who proceeds to thank her for signing Gwen’s test. On the way home, Gwen admits what she has done to her parents, who forgive her. They then memorize 1 John 1:8-9 together as a family.
Mom Thoughts
This is another excellent addition to the Good News for Little Hearts series. I love how they address specific sins individually in such relatable ways for children, and this new title is no exception. This scenario will really resonate with many kids who have been or could be in a similar situation (while the principles apply to any situation where lying seems like a viable option) and points to Christ through scripture as the answer. I also love all the helpful information in the back of the book for parents to help a child concerning lying. The illustrations, like the rest of the series, are colorful, detailed, fun, and beautiful. This is an excellent resource for all families, especially those struggling with lying in their homes. I highly recommend this book for your family.
