Summary
Before anything, God had a very good idea. His idea was to make people who would be full of love because He was full of love. So God made all different kinds of people, but people ruined God’s idea. People sinned and didn’t choose to love Him or others. Because we sin, we are in need of forgiveness. Everyone sins, so everyone needs God’s forgiveness. God has always had a plan to rescue us though and that plan was Jesus. When he died on the cross, Jesus paid for our sin so we can be forgiven. Then Jesus rose back to life and went to heaven. Jesus welcomes anyone who asks for forgiveness into his family forever. God’s family is the church and we can enjoy loving them and God now.
Mom Thoughts
The idea that we are God’s good idea may be a new concept for some children. This imaginatively illustrated book does an excellent job of showing how all kinds of people are part of God’s very good idea. The idea of the church being God’s family on earth now is not a subject frequently covered in children’s books and I love that it’s included here! I highly recommend this book for your home library.
