God, You Are: 20 Promises from the Psalms for Kids

These 20 short devotionals each focus on a truth about God taken from the Psalms. In addition to the author’s thoughts, there are two short verses for each devotional and a brief prayer.

These very brief devotions focus on a big truth about God, for example, “You are my King,” “You are my Deliverer,” and “You are my Refuge.” While they are brief, the vocabulary is slightly beyond littles, so I would recommend this for children 5-10. This would be a quick and solid addition to a morning or evening routine to refocus your child’s mind on the reality of who God is.

“When we say that God is holy, we are saying that he is the most powerful and perfect being that exists. He is unique; he stands out when compared with everything else. There is no one like God in all of the universes- he made the universe! Since he is the greatest and most valuable being that exists, we should honor him, celebrate him, and worship him.”

This could be used by families, group leaders, or teachers to start conversations about the character and qualities of God. This is simple but well done.
