Summary

Written in rhyme, some children in a classroom are making fun of other children: one for her hair and one for his skin color. When the teacher enters, the children apologize and their teacher, Ms. Preston, tells them bullying of any kind will not be accepted. She then jumps into her lesson and says that all people, no matter how they look, are descendants of Adam and Eve. She talks about how creation is diverse and beautiful and the diversity of God’s greatest creation, people, should be celebrated.

Because of the sin of Adam and Eve, sin is everywhere and people choose to do terrible, sinful things, like hate people because of the way they look. God knew sin would need a solution so He sent Jesus and all who believe in Him will be saved. It ends with a song you can sing with your children, with the repeated phrase, “God Made Me and You.”

Mom Thoughts

This is a fantastic, easily understandable resource for families on the subject of diversity. I love how it is pointed out that all people are descended of Adam and Eve. The author also celebrates what every human being should- that God made us wonderfully, beautifully different, and yet all in His image. I highly recommend this book for your family!
