Summary
Written in rhyme, these picture books highlight a Fruit of the Spirit (indicated in the title) with a fictional story. Each story is inspired from a verse pertaining to that subject:
The King Who Found His Self-Control: Proverbs 25:28
The Farmer Who Chose to Plant Kindness: Ephesians 4:32
Mom Thoughts
These picture books address topics that are rarely tackled in Christian children’s titles, and they do so effectively. Each book focuses on a different aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit, with the central theme always pointing to the Gospel. The stories clearly show how the main characters change before and after encountering Christ, emphasizing that only He can truly transform our hearts and actions. I also appreciate that the term “sin” is used directly, rather than a softer alternative. The illustrations are playful and engaging, and while the rhyme may not follow a strict meter, the books are enjoyable and fun to read. Fruit of the Spirit Tales make a wonderful addition to any home library!
If you hold to images of Christ as a 2nd Commandment violation, there is not a true depiction, but a bit of an outline in each. (See below)
