Summary
After the shepherds have left the stable, Joseph ponders how he could ever be a suitable father for God incarnate. He thinks about his shortcomings and then decides to do the only thing he can: be a helping hand.
Mom Thoughts
This unique but thoughtful book tries to grasp what Joseph could possibly have been feeling at the birth of Jesus. I love all of the illustrations the author uses to point to Christ’s deity. If you wanted to get picky, you could argue that Joseph’s conclusion to be a helping hand isn’t possible since God doesn’t need help, but clearly, that’s not what the author was trying to convey. I think this is a lovely and different kind of Christmas book that I recommend for your family. FYI: This is out of print, so it may be hard to get your hands on.
Note: There are many depictions of Jesus in this book.
