Summary

This theology book for children categorizes theology by “keys:”

The Throne Room Key: The Doctrine of God
The Dust Key: The Doctrine of Humanity
The Serpent Key: The Doctrine of Sin
The Tomb Key: The Doctrine of Christ
The Spirit Key: The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit
The Gavel Key: The Doctrine of Salvation
The Temple Key: The Doctrine of Last Things

Each “key” section breaks down into 4-10 different smaller categories to explain things in greater detail.

This is best suited for children ages 5 and above.

Mom Thoughts

I love theology books for kids and this one is outstanding. It is written a bit more like a storybook than other theology resources, with colorful language and imagery, but it is always very faithful to scripture. I would categorize this as Reformed Theology.

The illustrations are rather modern, muted, and may not resonant with every child, but as an adult, I find them beautiful and complementary to the text. This would be a wonderful choice for morning time together or even for adults that are new converts. I know of someone who used this book with great success in a high school youth group. I very highly recommend this book!
