Summary
This is a brief picture book biography of Corrie ten Boom’s life. The book follows her as a child, through the beginning of the war, as she hides people in her home, when she is sent to a prison camp, and after the war. There is a timeline at the end with a couple more details of her life, followed by a photograph of Corrie.
Mom Thoughts
This is a very simplified biography of Corrie ten Boom’s life aimed at children ages four to eight. The illustrations are realistic enough for it to not seem like a fairy tale, but soft enough to appeal to younger children. I do think, however, on the page that depicts the results of war that they made it look a little cartoony with houses tilted different ways instead of a more realistic take.
This story has very hard themes, but this is a very simplified version that doesn’t go into any detail about the events of her life, simply a broad overview to show children what an incredible life she lived for Christ, especially in such hard circumstances.
