Better Than Gold, The Wisdom of Proverbs (Kaleidoscope) by Chris Ammen

This is a retelling of the book of Proverbs, organized in a topical fashion. The topics are Wisdom & Foolishness, Two Paths, Two Meals, Honor the Lord, Knowledge, Creation, Words, Honesty, Anger, Fighting, Pride, Marriage, Parents & Kids, Friends, Grief & Death, Justice, Generosity, Work, Money, and Plans. There are illustrations intermixed in the text, like a story Bible.

This edition from Kaleidoscope is organized a bit differently. It would be very difficult to recount Proverbs chapter by chapter in language that is easily accessible to elementary-aged children. The author does a wonderful job of organizing things by topic instead, for ease of reading. Full disclosure: I was asked to endorse this book. I only endorse something after I have read it in its entirety and feel confident about putting my name behind it.

The things I long for my children to have are a strong faith in Jesus Christ as their savior and wisdom to follow the leading and instruction of the Lord.
