This is not the first “animals talking in a stable” Christmas picture book, but the spin the author puts on it- that they are only given the gift of speech for a short time- adds a new layer of hilarity that my children loved. The best part is that between the giggles your children will hear the animals speak the truth about who Jesus is: The King of Kings, The Prince of Peace, The Lamb of God.
The illustrator gets bonus points for depicting the animals in a house-like structure, not a stable. However, the Wisemen are shown riding up to the house that same night. Overall, this is a fun, slightly different Christmas book to add to your seasonal reading!
