Summary
Back in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve talked with God all the time about everything. When sin entered the world, it made it harder to pray. God continued to remind His people to talk to Him, so throughout history, they would pray in many different circumstances. Then, Jesus came and helped us to know how to talk with God. Through His death, Jesus paid the price for our sins so that people can live with God forever. Jesus didn’t stay dead and sent the Holy Spirit to live in His friends as He promised. You can pray about anything at all and any place you can imagine. Someday, we’ll get to talk with Jesus face to face, just like in the garden, but until then we can pray!
Mom Thoughts
This series continues to build itself beautifully with solid additions, Although this one isn’t a Bible story (think God’s Very Good Idea), it is filled with scripture references and biblical foundations about the reality of prayer and how God intended for us to use it. The illustrations by Catalina Echeverri are, as always, a beautiful expansion of the text with childlike playfulness. Prayer is something that my concrete sequential brain often struggles with, but even as a parent reading this to my child, I found encouragement in the examples set before us and the hope of taking with Jesus face to face. This is a wonderful book that I highly recommend!
