Written by trusted children’s author, Sally Michael, this beautifully illustrated picture book is from the Bible Verse to Remember series and highlights Luke 19:38a, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” Although this is intended for young readers, Michael is usually direct in her theology. There is one instance of “Jesus came so that we can be friends with God,” which some people appreciate for younger readers while others try to avoid this verbiage.
“Jesus is God. He can do anything He surely cold have stopped the people! But he didn’t. Why didn’t he? Jesus, the King of the whole world isn’t like other kings.”
Overall, this is a Biblically solid and visually delightful book!
