Summary
In this retelling of the Christmas story, the volume of the reader’s voice bounces back and forth between whispering and speaking really, really loudly. The shepherds are sleeping on a hillside (quiet) when suddenly an angel appears (loud)! It ends on a high (loud) note proclaiming that “Jesus is God’s son and our rescuer!”
Mom Thoughts
This is such a fun and exciting version of the Christmas story. My children love going back and forth between volumes, especially going from quiet to loud. Even older kids will want to get in on the fun. We should be shouting that Jesus is God’s son and our rescuer from the rooftops and this adorable children’s book reminds us of this simple truth. I also love that none of the characters in this book look like they’ve come from Europe; they have much more appropriately toned features. I highly recommend this book for your family!
