47 Strings: Tessa’s Special Code by Becky Carey

Written as a letter to an older brother, this book tells about a little sister, Tessa, who has Down Syndrome. It explains some of the differences between her and a child without DS, as well as some similarities.

This brief book does an excellent job of using language children can grasp to help them better understand what it means for someone to have Down Syndrome. Although not a Christian title, it’s definitely life-affirming!
