Mom Thoughts
What a cool book. I think something American (and maybe Western as a whole?) Christians can struggle with getting outside of their own culture and how they think things “should” look in the church. I don’t mean any kind of compromise in doctrine or adopting anti-biblical practices, but simply true believers being Christians in different cultures around the world.
A cartoon Tim Challies narrators throughout the book- which is FANTASTIC. Each country has four fully illustrated pages with facts about what the country is like, what is distinctive, and what living as a Christian there is like. We “meet” a child from that country and their family. In each of the country’s statistics box, it shows what percentage of people are Christians. It often differentiates between Catholic and Protestant churches, which I appreciate. You likely wouldn’t sit down and read this book in one sitting, but you certainly could if you have a child with a long attention span. Overall, I think this is a wonderful resource for families and churches to expand their horizons of the church and to give children a heart for believers all over the world.
Note: Both paedobaptism and credobaptism are illustrated and spoken about.
