There are lots of picture books recounting Holy Week through Jesus’ ascension, so what makes this one different? While faithfully retelling theses passages from Scripture, this title contains no depictions of Christ. For the family who views images of Christ a violation of the 2nd Commandment, this is a perfect choice for Easter. It is a wonderful retelling for any family though, regardless of their convictions.
Do know that when she has Christ and others speaking, they are not always direct quotations from Scripture. For example, when Christ is on the cross, He calls out, “Why have you left me alone?”
