Summary
Mr. Lemoncello is a famous video game maker and he’s hosting a contest, one where the winner gets to star in his commercials. The contest is for twelve, twelve-year-old children who must figure out how to escape from his new, state of the art library. There are secret puzzles, hidden escape routes, and lots of surprises!
Mom Thoughts
This graphic novel adaptation of the wildly popular book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, is a high energy puzzle from beginning to end. It has very strong Willy Wonka vibes, but with new twists and turns. If you have a child who loves puzzles and lots of action, this could be a great option. There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and selflessness as well as the importance of reading, which I greatly appreciate. When poor choices are made, they are not portrayed in a positive light. Overall, I really enjoyed this quick read!
