God’s Go-Togethers by Sam Allberry

Ethan and Lila head to the beach with Aunt May. Ethan tries mustard on his donut and finds out that not everything pairs together well. They list many things that do pair well, and end with one of the most special pairings God made–a man and a woman in marriage.

This lighthearted picture book shows the natural logic of certain pairings. While the message becomes explicit later in the story, the author skillfully points to the truth without hitting you over the head with it: marriage between one man and one woman is a wonderful, God-designed relationship! There is also a reinforcement of the beauty and difference of gender. I highly recommend this quick but thoughtfully crafted read.
