Summary

This whimsically illustrated picture book follows two girls as they raise funds for a short-term mission trip and then head over to Uganda to share God’s love. They see the different food, culture, and living environments and realized that God can use “even me” to be Christ’s light to the world. This is written by Adrienne Camp, Jeremy Camp’s wife.

Mom Thoughts

This book, written in rhyme, does a nice job of following the progression through a short-term mission trip. I appreciate that the author highlights how these people have less but are equally loved by God and just how similar we truly are. This could be a good choice if your family will be participating in a short-term mission trip. It could also be used well to talk to your children about how God can use anyone who loves Him in any situation when we follow His leading. The rhyming is a little forced in some spots, but overall it’s a lovely read.
