Summary
This picture book is from the viewpoint of a parent imagining all the things their child might grow up to do. Each page ends with the phrase, “Dream big, my precious one.” The parent thinks of many professions such as an astronaut, an engineer, a counselor, as well as things their child may accomplish such as fight hunger, serve the poor, and save turtles. It ends with 1 Chronicles 28:20.
Mom Thoughts
This adorable book is written in rhyme and repetition with charming, detailed illustrations that your children can visually explore over and over again. I love that this isn’t just a book about what a child wants to be when they grow up, it also ponders what hobbies they will enjoy and what noble things they will do.
Do know that one of the professions listed is “A preacher sharing God’s good news,” which is wonderful, and the illustration is depicted as a man, but there is no clarification that this would be a career only for a man.
This is a sweet choice for elementary-aged children as well as a memento for someone graduating high school!
