Summary
Both of these books follow a young cub around all day while she tries to find the answer to a question: what is Daddy’s favorite sound and what is Mommy’s favorite smell? She guesses many things throughout the day, but cannot guess either question. At the end of the day, Daddy tells her that his favorite sound is when Little Lion says “I love you.” Mommy tells her that her favorite smell is Little Lion! It reminds her of when she first held her as a baby. Both books end with a scripture verse, a prayer, questions to ask your child, and an activity to do together.
Mom Thoughts
Both of these books are silly and interactive, sure to please children six and under. There are many sounds and smells that they go through, which your child will love to embellish. Although the text itself isn’t overtly Christian, the pages at the end show where the heart of the author was for these books: bringing children and parents close to each other and closer to God.
The illustrations are a little different, not my personal favorite, but still cute. These would be a lovely Mother or Father’s Day present!
